Surface sandblasting - complete guide
Sandblasting utilizes high-velocity abrasive media (sand, metal shot) driven by air or water pressure to strip rust, scale, and old coatings from metal and concrete surfaces.
We offer full sandblasting services, including mobile onsite blasting. We achieve cleanliness grades from Sa1 to Sa3 according to project specifications.
Surface cleanliness standards
- Sa 1 - light blast cleaning (sweeping)
- Sa 2 - thorough blast cleaning
- Sa 2,5 - very thorough blast cleaning for standard coatings
- Sa 3 - blast cleaning to visually clean steel for critical applications
Mobile sandblasting unit
Our self-contained mobile units allow us to perform sandblasting directly at your job site, complete with containment structures and dust recovery systems.
Expert articles about sandblasting
What is sandblasting?
Sandblasting is the common name for abrasive blasting; the blasting medium is not necessarily sand.
Sa 1, Sa 2, Sa 2.5 and Sa 3 preparation grades
Sa grades are visual steel-preparation grades for abrasive blast-cleaning under ISO 8501-1.
Mobile abrasive blasting
Mobile abrasive blasting takes the equipment to the site, not the responsibility for protecting its surroundings.
Dust control in sandblasting
Wet, enclosed or extracted blasting can reduce dust; “dust-free” is not an absolute description.
